Khulna:
It is city, southwestern Bangladesh. Khulna population nearly 2 million people and one of the country's industrial city stands on the Rupsa River. Khulna is the biggest industrial city of the country. It is a divisional headquarter in southwestern Bangladesh, which serves as a gateway to the seaport of Mongla and the Sundarbans.
It is connected by riverboat, road, and rail to the major cities of the region. Shipyards are located about 3 miles to the south, on the Kazibacha River. Forest products from the forest-and-swamp area known as the Sundarbans supply Khulna’s textile, paper, and board mills, as well as its match and newsprint factories. The city also produces steel, cables, milled rice, and flour.
The Sundarbans is an abundant natural resource for a number of leisure, travel and research activities. Peace and tranquility in the wilderness, seeing the world's largest mangrove forest and the riverine beauty are a few of the treasures that greet the visitors. Sundarban is the natural habitat of the world famous Royal Bengal Tiger.
Mongla is the second seaport of the country and gateway to the Sundarbans. It lies 38 km. to the south of Khulna. The port authority has got motor launches to go to the forest.
